Amanda Witucki

Amanda Witucki is a self-taught artist living in Austin, Texas who has been creating consistent bodies of work since 2018. Her focus is paper sculpture and origami. She is an active, exhibiting artist around Austin, Texas and has been featured in exhibitions throughout the country. In early 2023, she created her largest commission for the San Diego Museum of Art.

Color is a prominent focus in Amanda's sculptures, and many of her palettes are translations of memories, moments, or even farcical discussions of consumerist pop culture. Oftentimes she has a visceral reaction to colors, and seeks to convey that feeling to the viewer. She likes to work with non-traditional palettes, often including a few "ugly" colors like olive greens or shades of brown to give tension and moments of pause in her pieces.
