Cristina White-Jones

Cristina White-Jones was born and raised in the Texas Hill Country and grew up on a ranch surrounded by both nature and the experiences of the city. Colors and textures were always around her, and it was hard not to be inspired; whether it was painting a landscape or later on being pushed towards abstracts. In 2003 Cristina graduated from Texas State University with a BFA in painting.

Her current body of work explores all of the emotions experienced on a daily basis. She often uses what most would consider ”trash” and then repurposes it into something both beautiful and interesting. She feels the texture in her work represents the bumps and the bruises she experienced while recuperating from a catastrophic hip injury as a child. Combing the organic elements of nature, color, and texture allows her to achieve an elevated and ethereal dimension in her stunning abstract work.
